How much biryani per person? A simple dawat guide

A 1 KG matka biryani at Bin Qasim Kitchen is written as serving about 7–8 people. Half KG is about 4–5. That assumes biryani is the main, not a single spoon next to three other meats.

If biryani is the only hot dish, plan closer to the lower end of those numbers and add salad. If you also have handi or pulao, one 1 KG pot can stretch further.

Islamabad and Rawalpindi dawats often run late. Rice sits better in a sealed matka than in an open tray. Still, order 1 day ahead so we are not sealing pots at the last minute.
